The Wild are on the road, but the NHL will still - sort of - be on display at “The X”. Instead of the NHL’s present, it’s the NHL’s future.
Saturday marks the first ever Minnesota College Hockey Showcase. It’s an event many years in the making that’s designed to bring together the four Minnesota-based teams in the prestigious Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
It’s also an event that will bring 30 NHL draft picks under one roof, along with one who is almost a lock to go in the first round next summer.
It’s not often that you’ll see a regular-season event in college hockey that shows off this kind of talent. I know that many of you don’t follow your favorite team’s player development, but if you do, this is going to be an enjoyable day.
