The Avalanche continues to struggle on power plays yet has managed to convert key goals with the man advantage in two consecutive games to force overtime before pulling out back-to-back shootout wins.

The Avalanche has won three games in a row overall to move back to .500 for the season at 8-8-0 heading into Tuesday's game against the Calgary Flames at the Pengrowth Saddledome to conclude a three-game road trip.

Marek Svatos scored a power-play goal in the third period on Nov. 12 in Vancouver -- the goal originally was credited to Paul Stastny -- to tie the game, and the Avalanche captured a 2-1 shootout decision.

Darcy Tucker's power-play goal Saturday in Edmonton tied the game with 10.7 seconds left in the third period, and the Avalanche pulled out a 3-2 shootout win.

Those are the only two power-play goals the Avalanche has scored in 30 man advantages in the last six games.

"Anytime you score late and have a chance to not only get one point, but to get another point, obviously we've managed to get a big goal at the right time," Avalanche coach Tony Granato said.

AVALANCHE 3, OILERS 2 (SO): Darcy Tucker scored on a six-on-three power play with 10.7 seconds left in regulation Saturday night and connected for the decisive shootout goal at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Goalie Peter Budaj made 33 saves through overtime and stopped four of five shots in the shootout as the Avalanche won its third game in a row.
