--C Joe Sakic remains in Denver to take treatments for his back while the Avalanche is on the road in western Canada. He missed the first two games of the trip, and it isn't certain if he will fly to Calgary for Tuesday's trip finale.
--G Peter Budaj has stopped 90 of 93 shots for a .968 save percentage during his three-game winning streak. Two of the wins have come in shootouts, where Budaj has turned aside six of eight shots. He's 3-0 in shootouts this year after going 4-11 in shootouts before this season.
--LW Wojtek Wolski can't buy a goal in regulation, but he's scored on all three of his shots in shootouts this season. If only Wolski could get a breakaway in regulation. After scoring in the Avalanche's opening game against Boston, he's gone 15 games without a goal.
--C Joe Sakic (back strain) was injured in practice Nov. 5 and is day to day. The Avalanche said Sakic's condition is improving as he continues to take treatment in Denver with the team on a three-game road trip in western Canada. It's possible Sakic will remain at home rather than fly to Calgary for Tuesday's trip finale.
--C Ben Guite (ribs) was injured in practice Nov. 10 and is out indefinitely, but he did some skating on Saturday in Denver.
