DEFENSEMEN: Brett Clark, Scott Hannan, Jordan Leopold, Aaron MacKenzie, John-Michael Liles, Ruslan Salei, Daniel Tjarnqvist.
FIRST: Ryan Smyth, Paul Stastny, Milan Hejduk.
SECOND LINE: Wojtek Wolski, Tyler Arnason, Marek Svatos.
THIRD LINE: Ian Laperriere, T.J. Hensick, Brian Willsie.
FOURTH LINE: Cody McLeod, Cody McCormick, David Jones.
--RW/C Brian Willsie suffered an injury to his left knee in the first period Thursday in Nashville and will be reevaluated Friday. Willsie, who has one assist in seven games, left the game after taking a hit from the Predators' Jordin Tootoo. "Willsie is one of the guys that we counted on to take some of the responsibility for the other injured players who have been out," coach Tony Granato said. Willsie had been taking some shifts at center with Joe Sakic sidelined with a herniated disc in his back and Ben Guite out with a rib injury. "He was doing a nice job at that position for us," Granato said.
--D Scott Hannan hasn't been the physical force the Avalanche expected when he was signed to a four-year, $18-million contract as a free agent July 1, 2007. He hasn't been all that effective on defense, either. Hannan has been a minus player in six of the past eight games and is minus-9 for the season with just four penalty minutes.
--D John-Michael Liles needs to pick up the pace offensively after signing a four-year, $16.8-million contract in June. He has eight assists but just two goals -- no goals in the past 11 games -- this season. It's one of the reasons the Avalanche power play has been so poor. Liles averaged 13 goals his first three NHL seasons but slipped to a career low six goals last year despite playing in 81 games.
--C Joe Sakic (herniated disc) was placed on injured reserve Dec. 3 and is expected to miss at least six weeks. No surgery is planned at this time. "I'm comfortable with the plan going forward and will work as hard as I always have in order to return to the lineup," Sakic said.
--RW Brian Willsie (knee) was injured in the first period Thursday against Nashville and didn't return. Avalanche coach Tony Granato said he didn't know how serious the injury is but expected Willsie to miss Friday's game in Dallas.
--D Adam Foote (back, knee) was placed on injured reserve Nov. 30 retroactive to Nov. 22 when he was injured on a hit from behind by Los Angeles' John Zeiler. No timetable has been set for his return.
--LW Darcy Tucker (sprained left knee) was placed on injured reserve Nov. 25 and is expected to be sidelined about three more weeks.
--C Ben Guite (ribs) was placed on injured reserve Nov. 22. No timetable has been set for his return.
